The Fisch Bowl "Shift Happens"

The Fisch Bowl movie was very informative. The stats that were given are very staggering. The things that were stated in the movie I never would have imagined. It was estimated that 3.1 million people in China were college graduates in 2006.

Also Great Britian has the largest army, and also the highest standard of living. When this came across the screen in the movie, while I was reading the bullet statements I was thinking in my head that it was America. So the movie really proved me wrong.

Also every 8 seconds 34 babies will be born and it had me thinking about how many people die as new life is bought into the world. This aspect is really intriguing to me. I could not believe that new life is always coming in every 8 seconds of the day.

The movie also lets you know that this world has changed so much during the last 10 years. Nobody could have ever predicted that technology would evolve into this major part of peoples everyday lives. It seems today that people can't even survive without their cell phones. Roughly 15-20 years ago people probably would have laughed at the idea of a cell phone.

The improvements in the world that technology has brought about is something that is deeply rooted in just about every household around the world. No matter how small the technical device is. When I watched the movie it really opened my eyes up to all the new and exciting things that have happened and will continue to happen in our world today. ACCESS

With the review of the ACCESS i found it to be a great advantage for high schools students living in rural, low income areas that school systems are unable to provide them with adaquete course work. The ACCESS website http://accessdl.state.al.us is a great way for students to enroll in Advanced Placment courses (AP) that are not available at there high school. As I was reading I was informed that there is a problem in Alabama because some high schools don't even offer Advanced diplomas.

Also another striking fact is that Alabama is ranked 14 out of 16 with this problem. So the ACCESS website gives students an opportuntity to have the same benefits as other students. The website was designed to give equal access to high quality instruction to all students.

Also the students are given the opportunity to have video conferencing with instructors to recieve a highly qualified educators. Students are provide with higher level math courses that are not provide at their high school due to the low income areas in Alabama.

Overall I feel this is a great website for providing equal instruction to all students all over the State of Alabama. I also hope and pray that in the coming future education improves in Alabama, because there are children out there who want to learn but low income areas are stuck with whatever kind of education they can get. I feel this practice is really unfair, and hopefully I can do may part to change things.

ALEX & ACCESS

This was my first time visiting the websites and I found them to be very interesting. The ALEX website provides teachers will all kinds of opportunities to improve on their lesson plans and how to write them. The Course of Study provides teachers with key content standards such as: Math, Language Arts, Science, etc. I will definitely use this website to help me on my journey to becoming an awesome well informed elementary school teacher.

The ALEX and ACCESS websites are great tools for teachers. The website gives you great ideas on how to write and create lesson plans for your classroom. These website provide new teachers with an elaborate idea on how to teach objectives to diverse learners.

The ALEX website also has a personal workspace that allows teachers to submit lesson plans they think are interesting and want to share, and also is a storage place for teacher web pages. This aspect is great for teachers who are unable to provide their students with things that are not provide by the school.

The ACCESS website is a great also for teachers and also students to become interactive within the classroom. It provides students with a high tech environment right inside the classroom. ACCESS provides students with opportunties that they may have not had before. The website is basically a tool for student improvement in and outside of the classroom.

This a website that provides equal instruction to all people across Alabama, teachers and students. The webite address to ALEX is: http://alex.state.al.us and ACCESS is: http://accessdl.state.al.us these two are great websites and I encourage anyone seeking ways to improve upon their instruction and education to check out these websites. They will be key components to improve your subject matter knowledge.

About Me

My name is Tiffany Crenshaw. I am 23 years old. I'm pursing a degree in Elementary Education. I will hopefully be graduating in the Fall of 2010. I am really excited about graduating because I am ready to enter into the work force and start my career. I chose to become a teacher because I am very passionate about the well being of children. I also love to play tennis, and I also teach tennis lessons during the summer. I hope that I will make a great teacher. I will make sure that my students are aimed for achievement in my classroom. After I get my Bachelor's degree I will pursue my Master Degree in Administration.
